♥ Christmas 2025

...was wonderful, but very social! My poor social battery is beyond maxed out. Today I basically locked myself in my room and napped with my cat until it was time to go to a doctor's appointment. I figured I would take a moment to write about my happy holidays though, and show you one of my favorite gifts.

This year, I asked for a couple particular things—namely, beautiful children's picture books and the white dragon beanie baby, Magic. I have long admired children's picture books for their art, but felt like it was childish to own them as an adult (even though I secretly wanted them). I decided this year I don't want to feel embarrassed anymore of the things that inspire me artistically, like my yumeship or drawing anthros...or children's books! So the books I asked for were The Bakery Dragon and Ignis, both books about cute young dragons who are different from all the other dragons somehow...The illustrations in both books are a real feast for the eyes. They filled me with so much joy; I can't wait to keep collecting more. I have a little zine collection that's pretty robust at this point, so I'm excited to start another little book collection.

In other dragon news, I received the white dragon beanie baby as a gift as well! Beira is based on a weighted dragon plush that I have, and I love to cuddle her for comfort. Unfortunately, when I try to bring her on my travels, TSA seems to stop me because of her every time. Not only that, but I was worried something would happen to her if I took her around to too many places. So....I asked for the beanie baby, which looks a lot like her, and decided to carry her around in my bag instead. It goes along with the lore anyway, because Beira can change her size :) I wanted her to match the bigger Beira plush, so I made her a rainbow bead necklace just like the other plush has.

Isn't she darling?

Now, after multiple Christmas parties, we are hosting an NYE party on the 31st, which I want to be more excited for than I am...I think it will be an awesome party, but I'm just so socialed out and throwing a party after over a week of day in and day out socialization, especially when the invitees aren't really confirming if they're coming or not...Well. We'll see how it goes. In any case, it'll be very good to ring in the new year with the friends that come. Wish me luck!

Hope you all have a peaceful rest of your holidays. I have this week off from work, so I will do my best to catch up on sleep, alone time, and hobbies :) Merry belated Christmas and happy early new year!
